Where do I sit my theory test?

Where do I sit my driving test?If you live in the Cumbernauld or surrounding area then there are a couple of options for this - either Glasgow Springburn or Airdrie.

How long will it take me to pass?Everyone learns at a different rate, but the DSA statistics say that on average it takes 45 hours of tuition with an instructor AND 20 hours of private practice.

Do I need to take anything with me on test day?You MUST bring BOTH your plastic AND paper parts of your licence. It would do no harm to bring your theory test certificate and test confirmation letter as well!

What car will I sit my test in?You'll sit your test in the car you've been doing your lessons in.

How long does my test last?Your test can last anything from 30 mins to 45 mins, but is usually around the 40 min mark.

Will my instructor be in the car during my test?If you want them to be then yes! There are some disadvantages to this though including the extra weight of an additional person in the car, and the instructor blocking your observations on test.

How many mistakes am I allowed to make?Your allowed 15 driving faults (minors) but no serious / dangerous mistakes (majors)

Will there ever be more than one pupil in the car during my driving lessons?No. Piggy backing as it's sometimes called is a way for driving instructors to cut down on their travelling time between lessons and is not something that will happen when learning to drive with Accelerate Driving School. All lessons are on a one to one basis.

Am I allowed to have the radio on during lessons?Good concentration is essential when learning how to drive, so the radio is usually off. However when you get to test standard, your driving instructor will normally allow the radio to be on for short periods of time to give you an idea of what it's like to drive with the radio on.

Can you show me how to park in a supermarket?Yes - although parallel parking is the required parking exercise for both Springburn and Airdrie test centres, bay parking can be taught as well if you want!

Why do I get an error message from PayPal when I try to 'Check Out' ?If you are using Internet Explorer 8 and are getting an error message saying 'Sorry, your last action could not be completed' then you may need to make sure that PayPal cookies are allowed access. To do this, just follow these simple steps :
1. In Internet Explorer 8, click Tools > Internet Options
2. Click the Privacy tab > Advanced
3. Put a tick in the box for 'Override Automatic Cookie Handling'
4. Make sure that you allow 'First Party cookies' and 'Third Party cookies' and tick the box for 'Always allow session cookies'
